The  Gate    /   過  門

The Gate is an installation inspired by the experience of passing through airport security checks. Regardless of whether passengers are carrying dangerous objects, staff always exhibit severe gestures, creating inexplicable pressure on every traveller. By recreating a security-like gate at the entrance of an art institute, but replacing the alarm with a comedic laugh, the installation ironically reverses the institutional nervousness associated with the general criminalisation of the security system, which permeates into people's daily lives.
