Submarine cables are an indispensable communication medium in contemporary human society, carrying over 90% of global internet data traffic. Who controls the submarine cables controls the information flow. The Cable is a series of cross-sec- tional studies on cable structures, depicted using graphite pencil, revealing the layers within the insulation material. Additionally, a telegraph submarine cable, which had lain dormant on the seabed for over 80 years after the Japanese colonial period, is presented through 3D scanning and printing techniques. This cable was salvaged in 1999 and is currently housed in the National Museum of Science and Technology in Kaohsiung.
